11th International Robotics Showdown in Oradea, Romania

The University of Oradea successfully hosted the 11th Robotics Championship International from April 20–22, 2023, in Oradea, bringing together around 500 competitors from 11 countries, including Belarus, Greece, Romania, the Philippines, Egypt, Poland, Turkey, Hungary, Algeria, Lithuania, and Lebanon. The international event served as a platform for young innovators to showcase their skills in robotics, automation, and research.
Among the highlights of the competition was the outstanding performance of Team Philippines, whose participants demonstrated excellence, creativity, and technical expertise across multiple categories.

One of the Philippine teams, under Erovoutika, was led by Engr. Bhai Nhuraisha Ibrahim Deplomo of the University of Makati. The team included Laila P. Manila from the First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities, Ian Bonn Satoquia Bolipata, Sophia Ellen Marquez Bolipata, Lana P. Manila from the City of Sto. Tomas, Lance Gregoire Marquez Bolipata, and Ivia Yofi Marquez Bolipata from Davao City. Their strong research and innovation skills earned them 1st Place in the Best Researcher category, marking a significant achievement for the Philippine delegation.
In the Freestyle category, two teams from DepEd Sta. Rosa, Laguna also brought pride to the country. The team composed of Cydric John V. Javier, Lorenz Ian A. Aliño, Rein Eunice A. De Jesus, and Matthew James B. Perilla—students from Labas Senior High School and Don Jose Integrated High School—secured First Place with their innovative project titled “Collectiboat.”
On the other hand, Florenz Onile F. Gertes and Audrina Lorreiane A. Tapay from Santa Rosa Science and Technology High School won Second Place in the Freestyle Category with their project “F.L.O.W” (Fast and Low-cost Observation for Worldwide Earthquakes). The system aims to aid disaster response by detecting earthquakes using camera motion. Their team was guided by head coach Dominic E. Liquido (Eridanus), whose mentorship contributed to their success.
Beyond the competition, Erovoutika was recognized as one of the international partners of the Robotics Championship in Oradea, Romania. The International Robotics Club (IRC) also extended an invitation to all participants from the 11 countries to join its global community. Organized by Erovoutika International Corporation, the club aims to support individuals in the robotics field through research, consultation, training, and competitions—uniting robotics enthusiasts from around the world.
The achievements of these young Filipino innovators highlight the country's growing strength in robotics, research, and STEM education. Through dedication, teamwork, and strong mentorship, Team Philippines continues to rise as a competitive force in the global robotics community.
The Robotics Championship International not only celebrates technological excellence but also fosters collaboration among nations—proving that innovation truly knows no borders.
