A Hub of Innovation: UB Anchors 4th Regional Robolution CAR

The University of Baguio (UB) transformed its campus into a high-octane hub of innovation on September 5 and 6, 2025, as it played host to the 4th Regional Robolution Cordillera Administrative Region. Bringing together the brightest young minds from secondary and higher education institutions across the region, the two-day event was a masterclass in technical skill, strategic thinking, and collaborative spirit.
The Regional Robolution is a competition designed to provide young innovators with a platform to showcase their knowledge and creativity in robotics, electronics, and programming. By hosting the event, the University of Baguio reinforced its commitment to supporting technological advancement and fostering innovation among students in the field of engineering and technology.
As the host institution, the University of Baguio provided key facilities, including the FGB Hall and several classrooms in the F Building, which served as venues for various competitions and exhibitions. These facilities were essential for venue arrangements and the coordination of working committees.
Participating schools include Tayug National High School, Manaoag National High School, Benigno V. Aldana National High School, Minuyan National High School, Saint Louis University, University of Baguio and Baguio Central University.
The first day kicked off with an intellectual gauntlet: the Robotics Quiz Bee. Here, students were tested on the intricacies of Arduino, coding, and electronics. Meanwhile, the FGB Hall became a gallery of the future during the Freestyle Exhibition, where students presented original projects that pushed the boundaries of traditional design. In specialized labs, the Erovouthon and Erobot (Versions 1, 2, and 3) competitions saw teams demonstrating surgical precision and engineering competence.
The intensity shifted gears on the second day with the "combat" and control categories. Mobile Controlled Robotics and the crowd-favorite EMega Sumo (Versions 1 and 3) challenged participants to outmaneuver and outthink their opponents. These matches were not just about speed, but about the control and problem-solving skills developed over months of preparation.
Third-year Computer Engineering students from the University of Baguio played a vital role in the success of the event by serving as the working committee. They facilitated the competitions, assisted participants, and ensured that activities were conducted in an organized and professional manner.
