eROBOlution Dubai 2026 Goes Virtual, Unites Global Robotics Community

The eROBOlution Dubai 2026, held in partnership with Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani Dubai Campus, successfully concluded after five days of international collaboration, drawing over 400 participants, 72 teams, and delegates from eight countries through a fully virtual platform from April 24 to 28, 2026

Participants from Hong Kong, Philippines, United Arab Emirates, United States, India, Bahrain, Maldives, and Egypt joined the global event, demonstrating resilience and adaptability as the summit transitioned to an online format. Despite this shift, the program sustained high engagement and showcased advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, and science education.

The opening ceremony on April 24 formally welcomed participating countries and featured keynote messages from Engr. Bhai Nhuraisha I. Deplomo, founder of ERovoutika, alongside messages of support from Mr. Alan C. Taule of the Department of Science and Technology–Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII), Prof. Vincent Shantha Kumar and Prof. Souri Banerjee of BITS Pilani Dubai Campus, and Mr. Rajasekharan AH, founder and CEO of STEM Robotics International, India.

Day 1 also highlighted the Capture The Crabs Competition, sponsored by COMPTIA, and supported by DICT-ILCDB and DOST-TAPI, a multidisciplinary challenge combining cybersecurity, robotics, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. Participants navigated the Robocrabs Education Platform to decode hidden data strings in the format CRAB{solution_string}, emphasizing the four pillars of C.R.A.B.: Cybersecurity, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain.

A standout feature of this category was the friendly yet highly competitive “UAE vs Philippines” dynamic where UAE team from Al Ain University, led by Coach Yaman Al Badawi, emerged as overall champion in CTC Competition.

On Day 2, a series of seminars and TechTalks enriched the learning experience. Ir. Prof. Connie Man-Ching Yuen discussed AI in education, covering topics such as virtual chart reasoning, image analysis, multi-agent orchestration, and spatial intelligence. Dr. Jonald Justine U. Itugot, CEO of Cerebro Solutions Inc., explored the transformative role of robotics and AI in teaching and learning. Meanwhile, Mr. Mohamed Omar Zeyada, CEO of Cassiopeia, examined emerging AI technologies, including their risks and future directions.

Further discussions included Mr. Zain Tawana of STARDUST Inc., who introduced AI-driven quantum memory for space operations, and Mr. Patrick Emmanuel De Jesus, who addressed AI Security, focusing on system protection and its responsible use.

Simultaneously, competitions such as RoboSim, Python Programming for high school and college students, and the Freestyle Innovation and Invention Competition were conducted. These events featured innovative presentations and projects from students representing different countries, including the Philippines, India, Hong Kong, Dubai, and the Maldives. The Freestyle category was evaluated by a panel of judges composed of Engr. James Ryan Justo, Prof. Connie Man-Ching Yuen, Mr. Caezar Angelito E. Arceo, Chief Science Research Specialist of the Invention Development Division of DOST–TAPI; Ms. Charlyn Jel V. Dimala, Partnership and Community Manager of Women in Tech Philippines; Engr. Alvin Banayo Jr., Section Manager of the Machine Engineering Section at Philippines Manufacturing Co. of Murata, Inc. (PMM); and Mr. Alan C. Taule, Chief Science Research Specialist of the Information Resources and Analysis Division of DOST–STII.
